Question 1

Does Botta's do free estimates?

Accepted Answer

Botta's reviews submitted project details and provides estimates based on the scope. Contact the team to confirm whether your project requires a site visit or can be quoted from photos and project details.

Question 2

How long does a concrete project take from start to finish?

Accepted Answer

Timeline depends heavily on project scope, scheduling, and season. A straightforward driveway replacement may complete in a day or two. Larger or more complex projects take longer. Curing — where the concrete develops structural strength — takes 7 days for vehicle loads and 28 days for full strength.

Question 3

What is the service area?

Accepted Answer

Botta's Concrete Construction primarily serves Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler, Tempe, Scottsdale, Phoenix, Apache Junction, Queen Creek, San Tan Valley, and Fountain Hills.

Question 4

Is Botta's licensed and insured in Arizona?

Accepted Answer

Botta's Concrete Construction Corp. is a registered Arizona business. For specific license and insurance details relevant to your project, contact the team directly and they will provide current documentation.

Question 5

Can I see examples of past work?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The Project Gallery page shows photos from Mesa and East Valley projects, including driveways, patios, slabs, sidewalks, and decorative flatwork.

Question 6

How long does concrete take to dry in Arizona heat?

Accepted Answer

Concrete doesn't "dry" — it cures through a chemical process. In hot Arizona weather, surface hardening happens faster than in cooler climates, but that speed works against curing quality if the slab isn't protected. Foot traffic is typically safe in 24–48 hours. Vehicles should stay off for 7 days minimum. Full strength development takes 28 days.

Question 7

Why does concrete crack?

Accepted Answer

Concrete cracks due to shrinkage during curing, base movement, tree roots, drainage erosion, thermal expansion and contraction, and overload. Control joints (the lines cut into concrete) are designed to direct cracking to predictable, manageable locations. Proper base prep and joint placement are the primary defenses.

Question 8

Can you pour concrete in summer in Arizona?

Accepted Answer

Yes, but it requires planning. Pours should happen early morning, before temperatures rise. The mix may be adjusted, curing covers are used, and finishing crews work faster than they would in cooler weather. Botta's schedules summer work around these requirements.

Question 9

What's the difference between a repair and a replacement?

Accepted Answer

Repair makes sense when cracking is surface-level, isolated, or structural issues have been resolved. Replacement makes sense when the base has failed, drainage is the underlying issue, or the slab has deteriorated past cost-effective repair. Botta's explains this distinction as part of the estimate process.

Question 10

Does concrete color fade in Arizona sun?

Accepted Answer

Integral color embedded in the mix fades more slowly than color hardener applied to the surface. All colored concrete — including stamped — benefits from a quality sealer that's reapplied periodically. UV exposure in the Sonoran Desert is among the highest in the country, so sealer maintenance matters.

Question 11

Why do concrete prices vary so much?

Accepted Answer

Square footage is one variable among many. Demolition, haul-off, base condition, access, finish type, drainage requirements, reinforcement, and hot-weather scheduling all change the number. A quote without a site inspection is typically wrong.

Question 12

Is stamped concrete worth the extra cost in Arizona?

Accepted Answer

Stamped concrete adds cost for pattern work, color hardener, and sealer. For areas where aesthetics matter — patios, walkways, entryways — the appearance payoff is real. For utility areas and driveways, plain broom finish is more durable and requires less maintenance.

Question 13

Does demolition cost extra?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Tear-out and haul-off of existing concrete is priced separately from the new pour. Thickness, reinforcement, and access all affect the demo cost. This is always itemized in the written scope.

Question 14

What payment methods does Botta's accept?

Accepted Answer

Payment methods and schedule are discussed as part of the estimate process. Contact Botta's directly for details on accepted payment types, deposit requirements, and payment timelines for your specific project.
